The radios were exhibited at IFA

Eton promised to reinvent the radio, but only a few actually believed in it. Surprisingly, another gizmo that created quite a stir at the Electronics Industry Show IFA is the new Porsche-designed Eton P9110 device. What is that? Well, besides looking like retro hard gadgetry, the item is an AM/M/Shortwave radio that embedded an extra flash light and an old fashioned crank handler. You got it right!

The manufacturers have added the crank handler to allow the users generate their own power when using the electronic device. Regarding its impressive solid, but rather simple design, the item is encased in aluminum and merely measures 0.74 kilos.

On the outside, some would say that it could actually be a real metallic sculpture, though the included radio functionality gives us the impression of a genuine radio from the future, that people who buy land on the Moon would actually find it irresistible.

As for its capabilities, there is nothing that Eton hasn't already demonstrated. Probably the built-in emergency features are going to be the main interest regarding the radio.

And if you're wondering about the pricing and availability details of such a device, sadly there is no word regarding the radio's price tag, but something tells me that this baby will cost far more than the standard Eton radios with similar specification. But that is also included in the pleasure of owning such as remarkable piece of electronic art.

Eton company is known for its amazing partnerships in the industry, with heavy names such as American Red Cross, Apple, Grundig, Sirius, XM and more.

Therefore, the last one in 2005, with Porsche's designers shouldn't come as a surprise. The result was this new line of DAB radios that take the radio technology to another level. This time, comparable to driving a Porsche! Thanks Gizmag for the photos!
