In a video shot in the African Kalahari Desert, you can see how tribes cook their food using no frying pans. It was uploaded by Animal Planet, and features Guy Grieve filming the San bushmen for his show, the Death Race.

The clip makes us reevaluate how useful kitchen appliances really are, but at the same time, crave for this unusual omelet.

The tribesmen use burning logs to set a fire nearby, so we can only assume they prefer their omelet cooked in the sand, probably because the scorching sand completely surrounds the egg white and gives the omelet a special, crunchy, earthy taste.

After the omelet is cooked, it is covered in sand so that it can harden and the men are able to pick it up. The entire tribe gathers around the omelet for feeding time.
