It's already been one hell of a year for Hollywood actor George Clooney. He pretty much turned his entire life around when he decided to give up on being a bachelor and get back into the married life saddle, something he'd sworn he would never do, and now he's also said to be taking a break from acting to pursue a political career.

While older reports have him eyeing the Oval Office in the White House, which means he plans to go big or go home as the President of the United States, more recent news have him pegged as Governor of California before that.

This obviously makes more sense because in this manner, the actor can get a feel for things and also have the time to earn his political stripes, something which could prove to make the difference between winning and losing the presidential elections. No one wants a newbie president who's just fresh from the Red Carpet of some movie premiere.

Of course, George is no stranger to politics. He's a fervent Democrat supporter and has done a lot of charity work that is going to score big points with his constituents. He's got friends in high places, as he's rubbed shoulders with President Obama on many occasions, and he might have what it takes to go all the way.

But there was still one thing missing, one elusive feather in his cap: a suitable partner. No matter how forward-thinking Americans think they are, they will never vote for a single president in favor of a married man. This, for George, would have been a problem up until a few months ago, but now he's actually also got this thing sorted.

He's recently proposed to a British human rights lawyer by the name of Amal Alamuddin, whom he's set to marry this September if we are to believe the latest gossip. She hails from a Lebanese family and, though young and stunningly beautiful, she's already made a name for herself.

She's a barrister at a major law firm in London, and her career in human rights activism is impressive for her age. Basically, she's the perfect partner to have for a man with political aspirations: she's pretty, smart, with legal knowledge and high connections, and she'll be able to promote your agenda with ease and charm.

Like it or not, Amal Alamuddin has First Lady written all over her. And don't think that only the press took notice of that. It's hard to believe that political analysts working for Clooney's political career venture didn't have a word to say in his new conquest. They probably steered him towards her in the first place, though that's going to be impossible to prove.

This also explains why George is such in a rush to get married. Think about it for a second: the man has been single for decades, filling his time and bed with pretty women that were basically just for décor and now, all of a sudden, he's getting married within months of meeting and getting engaged to a lawyer.

Of course, it could very well be true love, passionate and pure, free from any hidden reasons, but honestly, when was the last time you heard of something like that? Chances are Clooney is carefully prepping for his entrance on the political stage and an army of PR managers are grooming him to become America's next actor president.

It's easier for him since there is a precedent in American history – Ronald Reagan, although, admittedly, the man's reputation isn't what you'd call “spotless.” But just like Clooney plans to do today, he was previously a Governor of California, a region famed as a Democrat stronghold and with the ability to propel you to the Oval Office.

So now, Clooney looks truly ready for what could very well be the start of a promising career in politics: he's got the looks, the charm, the right connections, the potentials, the woman on his side and the precedent to prove that it can be done. The only question left to ask is would Americans vote for him? Would you?
