Fox’s hit medical series, “House M.D.” is nearing the last episodes of season 6 and many fans are still wondering about whether the Huddy romance, between House and Cuddy, will eventually take place. Speaking with Michael Ausiello of The Ausiello Files, series creator David Shore says the couple will eventually get to live in real (scripted for television) life what occurred only in House’s mind at the end of last season.

There is no “maybe” and no “perhaps” to that: Dr. Lisa Cuddy and Dr. Gregory House will eventually get to be romantically involved, Shore says. What’s more, chances are very high this might actually happen in the final episodes of the ongoing season – or so Ausiello seems to think. Given that he’s very well connected both with official and unofficial sources all over the place, he might actually be right when he says fans will get a Huddy romance in the upcoming episodes.

“The prognosis on Huddy is in, and it’s excellent. I just hung up with House creator David Shore, and – no beating around the bush here – he promised me, ‘Eventually, it’s going to happen. This is the thing we’ve been dancing around – even before we knew we were dancing around it. They’re two very flawed people, but they’re two people that are very attracted to each other. I’m a Huddy fan, [too],’ Shore added. ‘Just keep watching the show. It’ll happen eventually’,” Ausiello writes after speaking to Shore.

There’s even more, as the relationship might actually start in the final episodes of season 6, Ausiello argues. “I can confirm that there was not a single qualifier in that sentence. I listened to the tape three times. Not a single ‘maybe’ or ‘possibly’ in there. […] Coincidentally, Shore also happens to be in the middle of breaking this season’s final episodes. Could it possibly culminate with real, non-hallucinatory lovemaking? My gut is telling me yes,” Ausiello explains.

Of course, this is not the first time that talk of Huddy becoming a real couple arises. Last year, for instance, before the season premiere, the same Shore was telling Ausiello that, for the time being, producers had decided to step away from the idea of the romance because it simply did not fit in the larger scheme of things. If Ausiello’s prediction turns out to be true, it could be that the time for Huddy to come into being has come.
