The Australian technology now shows suggestions

The Australian part of Google Search Engine is always getting the latest goodies prepared by the Mountain View company even before the rest of the countries receive them. Think about Maps updates, blogs and now suggestions. Yes, you've read it right, the Australian search engine is now offering suggestions for most of the search queries conducted through Google. Actually, the suggestions are almost some related links provided to the searcher that can give you additional information related to a certain topic.

The suggestions are displayed at the bottom of the page but, as Alexis Battle, Software Engineer, said, some keywords might not show them. For example, you can try searching for "national parks". Scroll to the bottom of the page and you should be able to see related searches such as "national parks australia", "national parks victoria" and others.

"Now, when you are looking for information on a specific topic, we offer query suggestions at the bottom of the search results page that you can click on to find information faster. Sometimes, the suggestions allow you to quickly narrow down the search. We'll also present interesting related concepts that encourage you to explore further," the Google employee said. "In both cases, these algorithmically generated suggestions are shown only when they are the most helpful and useful, so you shouldn't expect them for all your queries," he added.

The suggestions were tested several times in the past but, until now, they were not included in any of the search engines owned by the giant Google. However, the Australian side of the technology is now showing those related links for the first time since the Mountain View company tested them for the Chinese search engine.

In addition, it seems that the parent company Google is also testing a new layout for the main search engine as I was able to see image results for the keyword "netball" at the bottom of the page, in the same place where the suggestions are displayed.
