No sooner than 2050, apparently

Yeah, baby...I can't say I wasn't expecting this, but what difference does it make if it's going to happen by 2050, when all of us we'll be old and pampering nephews? Well, it goes like this: apparently, artificial researcher David Levy, from the University of Maastricht in the Netherlands revealed to the fellows from LiveScience something really interesting: "My forecast is that around 2050, the state of Massachusetts will be the first jurisdiction to legalize marriages with robots". How about that?

Nowadays, sex with robots is becoming a reality, therefore the idea of a certain kind of romance between humanity and the plastic mechanism shouldn't be fully rejected.

As Fox News sustains, in his thesis entitled "Intimate Relationships with Artificial Partners," Levy says that robots "will become so human-like in appearance, function and personality that many people will fall in love with them, have sex with them and even marry them". Ain't that spooky, or what? And even if "It may sound a little weird, but it isn't" - Levy said - "Love and sex with robots are inevitable."

We could as well foresee these things happening, as the development of the robots led to Sony's Aibo robot dog, Tickle Me Elmos or fun digital pets like Tamagotchis. Levy has also predicted Massachusetts to be the first jurisdiction to legalize these types of marriages.

Why? For the same FoxNew, Levy explained: "Massachusetts is more liberal than most other jurisdictions in the United States and has been at the forefront of same-sex marriage. There's also a lot of high-tech research there at places like MIT."

Apparently, another brilliant mind, Arkin said that the only major good thing that could result from these kinds of "relationships" would be the downsize of human prostitution. All in all, the ethical questions regarding this matter are still to be solved...
