DOC2DOCK is an environmentally friendly non-profit organization keen on saving thousands of lives in developing countries, while reducing the amount of waste created by millions of hospitals from wealthy nations.

Its officials are trying to divert unused medical supplies from landfills, collecting and redistributing it to the people affected by gaps in their health care system, reports Treehugger.

All in all, the organization provides a win-win situation, as a hospital's waste is another clinic's treasure. It encourages people to embrace the strategy by printing its story on more than 100 cardboard boxes used to gather no-longer-needed medical products.

The company's officials say they have been able to make a difference, changing the fate of financially challenged people from poor countries since 2005.

Their strategy is not only brilliant on paper, but also efficient when put into practice. So far, a team of volunteers and medical staff all across America joined efforts to distribute perfectly usable equipment to more than 2 million people.

The items they collect, ship and redistribute comply with all quality standards, yet are dismissed by several clinics in the US for regulatory reasons. There is nothing better than an eco-friendly strategy meant to liberate crowded landfills while saving thousands of lives.

Everybody is encouraged to contribute and help volunteers complete their mission. First step implies visiting the DOC2DOCK website, or checking out their facebook page at www.facebook.com/DOC2DOCK.
