This is a fake video shot for amusement purposes and should not be taken seriously

Your kid might have relished the opportunity to give your photo gear a good bath at some point, but you ran screaming after him/her and you stopped the deed before it happened, didn't you?

Well, the creator of this “How to Clean Your Canon 5D Mark II and Lens” tutorial seems to think there’s no problem in bathing your expensive photo equipment if you really want it to come out spotless.

The tutorial is quite disheartening, as we see the 5D Mark II and its lens being submerged completely in water. The creator of the video scrupulously adds some dish soap and then proceeds to scrub the inside of the camera using his finger, not even a sponge.

Everything culminates at the end, when he takes a spray hose and uses it to spray at full blast right up the sensor. As horrible as the video might be to the sensible eyes (and heart) of a photographer, this is obviously a prank (a very sinister one, in fact).

So don’t get any ideas in your head about performing the same experiment on any of your gear, because the result will utter a complete failure of the camera.
