Legendary TV producer, author, writer and director Henry Bromell, whose most recent work includes the critically acclaimed series “Homeland” and “Brotherhood,” has died. He was 66 years old.
The LA Times reports that Bromell suffered a heart attack at his home and was rushed to an undisclosed hospital, where he passed away.
A statement from Showtime, which makes “Homeland” on which Bromell had been working since its debut, confirms the sad news.
“We are deeply saddened by our dear friend Henry Bromell, who has been part of the Showtime family for over a decade,” the statement reads.
“Henry was an immensely talented and prolific writer, director and showrunner, and his work on ‘Brotherhood’ and ‘Homeland’ was nothing short of brilliant. His passion, warmth, humor and generosity will be greatly missed. Our hearts and thoughts go out to his wife and family,” the statement further says.
Bromell is survived by his second wife and two children.
