The team at publisher Deep Silver is announcing that it is pushing the launch date for Homefront: The Revolution into 2016 and that it is renaming the development team working on it as Dambuster Studios.

The company explains that the leader of the team and director of the title will be Hasit Zala and that there are 126 people currently working on the new project, most of them veterans of both Crytek United Kingdom and Free Radical Design.

Apparently, the development process for Homefront: The Revolution is proceeding at full speed and there are some positions inside the studio for those who are looking to have a role in its creation.

Hasit Zala, the leader of the Dambuster team, is quoted as saying that "We are excited that Deep Silver’s acquisition of the Homefront IP and assets from Crytek has allowed development of Homefront: The Revolution to continue with minimum disruption. The team here believes we are working on something truly special."

The chief executive officer of Deep Silver, Dr. Klemens Kundratitz, states that the extra time will be important for Homefront: The Revolution because it will allow the mechanics of the game to be better developed.

At the moment, the title is still planned to arrive on the PC, the Xbox One from Microsoft and the PlayStation 4 from Sony.

Homefront: The Revolution aims to introduce an open world structure

The title is set to take place four years after the events of the first and will see the protagonist working inside the city of Philadelphia to create a powerful resistance movement which can stand up to the occupation military forces of the unified Korean state.

The development team has promised that it will introduce a full open world structure, allowing the player to explore the game world at will, as long as he sneaks around or takes out enemy soldiers.

The combat will be asymmetrical, with the gamer-controlled forces having to rely on subterfuge and on homemade weapons in order to battle their technologically superior enemies.

Homefront: The Revolution is designed with a focus on character development and world building.

CryEngine 4 will be used to make sure that it impresses on both the Sony and Microsoft home consoles and on the most advanced PC hardware.
