Barely has Homefront been launched and people are already complaining about issues both on consoles like the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 but also on the PC.

Homefront has been developed by Kaos and published by THQ at the beginning of the week in North America and today in Europe, but its launch hasn't gone all that smoothly.

After plenty of reviewers complaining about the short single-player campaign, actual players are also reporting quite a lot of issues on all platforms.

On the consoles, specifically the PS3 and Xbox 360, freezing issues are plaguing Homefront owners, with the game not responding during actual gameplay or in pre- or post-game lobbies, on the PlayStation 3, and right at the start of the title on the Xbox 360.

This forces console owners to perform a hard reset of their system since there's no other solution to the freezes.

Kaos Community Manager Jeremy Greiner confirmed the issues and said that the development team is working on fixing the problems reported by players.

"I'm looking into the reports of PS3 freezing issues and will provide an update once I've spoken with all the teams. Will need a bit of time, but in the interim - thanks a lot for your patience."

On the PC platform, things are also problematic, but thanks to resourceful players, solutions to their issues have already appeared on the Kaos forums.

Framerate issues are quite frequent in Homefront on the PC, despite being built on the Unreal Engine 3, which ran quite well on the platform in other types of games.

Still, players are recommending those affected by issues to force the game to run in DirectX 9, turn down the graphics quality settings or even go as far as editing the actual files of the game to improve the experience.

Kaos will no doubt launch a patch for all these issues, but until that happens, players are going to have to wait it out.
