A faction of the Anonymous hacker group attacks celebrities

They call themselves the Hollywood Leaks and their purpose seems to be to reveal secrets from the lives of celebrities.

The entertainment industry is under threat by the hackers who claim that "We're simply here to facilitate the free flow of information from a place which was previously over looked, Hollywood."

Gawker informs that one of the stars who found out the hard way about the true meaning of “freedom of information” is the rapper Kreayshawn. While she was sitting in the audience at the MTV Video Music Awards, Hollywood Leaks was having a blast with her Twitter account, posting inappropriate pictures stolen from her cell phone.

Other celebs who've seen the power of the group include Tom Cruise, whose email was cracked. This resulted in the publication on torrent websites of the script for a musical programmed for release in 2012, called Rock of Ages, which will star the actor.

ThreatPost mentions that Gerard Butler and rappers Lloyd Banks and Waka Flocka Flame were also targeted and had their e-mail addresses posted on Pastebin.

The phone numbers of Miley Cyrus, DJ Drama and actress Jenny Garth have also been obtained and made public.

N'Sync's Joey Fatone and Lil Jon didn't dodge the “wrath” of hackers either, their phone numbers being leaked.

IAMDGKZ1, one of the members of the group, stated that "We're currently sitting on several unreleased movie scripts, and enough numbers / emails to keep phones ringing and the inboxes full for the foreseeable future."

Famous musicians and actors must be aware of the dangers and they should better protect their online possessions. The attackers claimed that it was not their knowledge that helped them hack into the accounts, most damage being done by guessing the answers to bad security questions.
