Holly Madison admits to rhinoplasty and augmentation, says beauty is on the inside

Holly Madison is gorgeous, so it’s no wonder she was Hugh Hefner’s number-one girlfriend for so many years and the one of whom people liked to believe she would be able to convince the mogul to settle down in marriage again. Of course, this glamor model did not always have the perfect sizes she has now, as she reveals in a recent interview with Life&Style the extent of her surgical interventions, as well as her belief that her body is just a tool.

Good looks don’t really matter, Madison says, unless to the extent one is able to use them to get somewhere. Ironically enough, the model says that real beauty comes from the inside, which means she only had plastic surgery in order to achieve some goals that she wouldn’t have otherwise. Madison is no hypocrite, though, in that she admits she’s not prettier now that she has had work done. She’s only more famous, which is exactly what she wanted.

She moved with Hugh Hefner at the mansion in 2001 and, for a girl who always stuffed her bra to look fuller, spending time in such close proximity of the other girls meant a serious hit to her self-confidence. In just a short while, she decided to undergo surgery. “Living with Hef brought down my self-esteem a lot. I was comparing myself to the other girls… You have to look a certain way at the mansion. […] That was a big letdown… I compared myself to those [playmates]. I knew what I wanted to look like and was kind of disappointed.” Madison says for the magazine.

Eventually, against Hefner’s pleas, Holly had rhinoplasty and upped her cup size. She’s not more beautiful now that she has had these “upgrades,” the star points out, but they did manage to raise her profile, up to the point where she became the most famous and popular girl at the mansion. Given this, it would be absurd to say that she doesn’t owe her success to her good looks, Madison explains, but she doesn’t want to send out the message that (standardized) beauty is all that matters in life.

“Plastic surgery made it easier for me to get things I wanted in my career. Without it, I wouldn’t be where I am today… My nose photographed really big in front of my face. If I wanted to do anything in the entertainment industry, I needed to get it fixed. I was definitely happy with the results. It made me more confident. And a lot of doors open when you look a certain way.” Madison says. “Beauty is truly on the inside. Looks don’t define you – they’re just a tool to get what you want.” she adds.
