Reto Moto will re-define the MMO space

The founders of IO Interactive and creators of Hitman and Kane & Lynch: Dead Men, Neil Donnell and David Guldbrandsen, have announced the birth of a new development company called Reto-Moto. Its goal will be to re-define the online multiplayer space and bring players new experiences.

The Reto-Moto team has ambitious growth plans, but doesn't want to say a word about them - hopefully they're not as ambitious as the "breathtaking" Pong game you can play if visiting the "Projects" section on the official website. Anyway, back to the serious stuff: the company admits that it is in "active dialogue" with strategic industry partners. No other details, as usual: the guys have already created a few extraordinary games and know that people have to keep quiet every now and then.

Still, the CEO of Reto-Moto Neil Donnell, said, "It's imperative for any successful games developing company in today's market to have a leadership team with proven talent and track record. After 10 years working together at IO we know we have both". David Guldbrandsen, Chief Technology Officer, added, "We've seen the interactive online market develop significantly in the last 5 years. Fresh from the global success of 'Hitman' we think our new company Reto-Moto is well placed to capture commercial and creative advantage".

So everything seems to be perfect at the moment. We're just wondering whether their departure had anything to do with the not-so-successful release of Kane & Lynch: Dead Men, because the below average Hitman: The Movie is surely out of question. Or the developers had an ambitious project in mind and it didn't fit Eidos' plans to release violent games. Not that I can imagine the former IO Interactive people ready to create something that has no connections with killing, blood or assassins.
