You may ask what makes a professional TV. The answer is updated technology (high quality plasma display). HD PDPs represent the latest generation of TV displays. Everybody likes watching movies or big cat documentaries on big-flat-slim high definition screens. The demand for expensive large wall units for the chic and trendy had risen (especially on the US market).

That probably determined Japan's Hitachi to prepare something to give to the few but hungry PDP fans. They announced their latest PDP TVs (not into super large 55 inches yet). The Wooo 01 presents some interesting features. The iVDR (Information Versatile Disk for Removable Usage) module will allow you transfer data between PCs, TVs, camcorders, DAPs, cars etc. Hitachi presented 5 new iDVR modules, ranging from 32 to 50 inches (2 Full HD model and 2 HD Ready models) with support for iDVR-S (Secure) and a 250 GB internal hard disk to record videos in HD. You can choose from different iDVR storage capacities. The 160 GB iDVR (made by Maxell) is the maximum you can get (yet!).

The level 50 version (Full HD model) has 10000:1 contrast ratio and a high brightness of 1100cd/m2 (better prepare that 6 K you saved last summer). The 37-inch high definition plasma display panels offer a lower 7000:1 contrast ratio and also a lower 500ccd/m2 brightness. Both versions come with 3 HDMI ports and 2 D4 ports. Maxell, Hitachi and Warner Home Video are joining forces in order to offer 5000 pieces of 40 GB iDVR hard disks. The chosen marketing strategy has a nice teasing-trick involved: the iDVR stuff will come up with one or more pre-recorded movies (Wooo).
