14 DAY TRIAL // Hillary Clinton was in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay for a speech on recycling technologies, when a woman whose identity has not been made public yet threw a shoe at her on the stage. She missed, but only by so little.

The former Secretary of State was speaking for the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries when, all of a sudden, she realized something was coming towards her. She dodged and wasn’t hit, but it took her a while until she found out what the projectile was.
At least she did it without losing her sense of humor, which is not something that can be said about many. “Is that somebody throwing something at me?” she asked. “Is that part of Cirque du Soleil? What is that? Is that a bat?”
With Mrs. Clinton unharmed, the conference continued without any further incidents. The assailant was apprehended immediately and, TMZ reports, “escorted out of the hotel immediately – and law enforcement sources tell us, she's currently in custody with the Secret Service.”
Reports online say that security and Secret Service agents had spotted her before because she hadn’t been ticketed, and were keeping an eye on her. However, this doesn’t explain why they didn’t escort her out before she got to throw the shoe.
