Things with Mike Comrie are improving, but they’re not perfect just yet

Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie announced they had decided to separate in January, after 3 years of marriage. By mid-April, a report was saying they were working through their issues, trying to save their marriage, if possible. In between then and now, the actress and singer seems to have turned to Scientology for help.

She is probably courting the idea of joining the ranks of celebrity members of the Church, as a way to cope with her marriage problems and the stress of her life in the spotlight.

Duff has rarely spoken about her religious beliefs but she did say just recently that she believed in God even though she wasn’t much of a churchgoer. However, she could be looking for comfort and spiritual guidance elsewhere, in the midst of the most controversial cult in Hollywood, the Church of Scientology, Radar Online believes.

One of Hilary’s best friends is Alanna Masterson, who also accompanied her to this year’s Coachella Music Festival. It’s true that Mike was also there with her and they were even photographed holding hands as they mingled with other festivalgoers, but it’s with Alanna that Hilary seems to have spent most of the time.

“Rumored to have recently dated Tom Cruise’s son Connor Cruise, Masterson has been a member of the Church most of her life, along with her brothers Chris Masterson and Danny Masterson,” Radar Online says. Even more telling is the fact that “the actress was spotted rocking a mysterious temporary tattoo during the girls’ time together at Coachella — and it included Scientology symbols!”

Masterson’s father, Joe Reaiche, was also a member of the Church until some time ago but, since defecting, he’s been voicing his concerns about his children because of their involvement, while also trying to expose some of the things happening behind closed doors.

Of course, Hilary’s temporary tattoo, which she had removed by the time she flew back home, could have been just a fashion statement. Even “Twilight” star Kellan Lutz was seen covered in fake tattoos at the same event, and no one stopped to wonder what they might be about because they assumed he’d had them done for fun.

Coachella usually brings the hippie out of attendees, so tattoos and all kinds of body ornaments, including facial jewelry, are customary – and they were never as popular as they were this year. Hilary could have gotten that tattoo without even knowing what it represented.

Or she could be considering becoming a Scientologist. We’ll probably find out pretty soon.
