A report talking about a potential forthcoming iOS 5.0 software update dishes out high hopes for a few new feature implementations, as well as tweaks to some existing functions.

According to the folks at Tech Radar, Apple’s iOS is great, but it could be better. Much better, in fact, with the addition of wireless sync, for example.

Apple’s iOS devices, though mobile, still need to connect to a computer to get most of the important stuff on it, or off it. The ability to wirelessly sync at least between iOS devices is also craved for.

A better notifications system also needs to be implemented, the site outlines, via an extra home screen allowing the user to scroll through their recent notifications.

The lock screen should be open for reconfiguring too. Things like the clock could be put out of the way, made smaller etc., while a weather widget could easily sit in the free space in the middle for those who don’t care much about their wallpaper.

The ability to perform single app backups should be implemented. Users could, and should be allowed to include more apps in their scrollable folders in iOS 5, the report suggests.

Multitasking, while great at the moment, should add extra features like a toggle for quick brightness settings, or a handy switch-to-ariplane-mode toggle on the iPhone.

Many would also appreciate the option to see a list of installed apps, as opposed to looking for a certain something using the Spotlight, or swiping through multiple screens, Tech Radar suggests.

Users whose knowledge of the iOS is above average would appreciate the ability to quickly move all the default apps in an "Apple" folder, it adds.

Editable dictionary and auto-correct, App Store multitasking, and a guest mode are just more wishes for iOS 5, according to the tech site.

How about you? What would you like to see implemented in iOS 5? With enough answers posted in the comments, we can work up a wish list as well and, perhaps even send it to Apple.
