Basically, they are powerful laptops for designers and engineers, among others

Unlike not too long ago, laptops can actually get displays with resolutions beyond Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) quite easily these days. Intel's new Precision M4800 and M6800 workstations show that well enough.

After all, in the end, it all boils down to cash, and professional designers, engineers, film makers and people from various other industries (oil, gas) aren't bound to suffer from monetary constraints. At least none that are too tight.

Eager to capitalize on this, though reluctant to renounce customizability, Dell has maintained the broad spec options on the new Precision M4800 and M6800 mobile workstations, but has given them 15.6-inch Quad HD+ IGZO panels.

That means they have a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels. Add to that the optional, 17.3-inch auxiliary Wacom 10-finger multitouch panel and multitasking is easy.

For those who want the rough parameters within which the dry specs are located, Dell offers up to 8 GB RAM, fourth-gen Intel Core i5 / i7 CPUs, and AMD FirePro or NVIDIA Quadro professional graphics (up to 8 GB VRAM).

A secondary slice battery and encryption, malware protection or other security features can be implemented as well. Starting prices are of $1,099 / €1,099 (no matter what exchange rates would have to say about it) to $1,599 / €1,599. Shipments will start on September 12.
