Heroes of the Storm developer Blizzard confirms that its team is working on a variety of different aspects of the multiplayer game, from fixes for performance issues, to new balance tweaks, matchmaking improvements, and of course, new heroes or battlegrounds.

Heroes of the Storm is Blizzard's entry into the multiplayer online battle arena genre and the game got a popular closed beta at the beginning of the year. After releasing several updates and new content, the studio is currently gearing up for the open beta stage that will kick off in May, as well as the full launch that will take place in early June.

Lots of different aspects will be improved

Until then, Blizzard confirms on its forums that it plans on improving many different aspects of the popular game.

Among the main priorities are the performance issues encountered by players in different situations, not to mention changes to the matchmaking system that should, hopefully, make it easier to reconnect to matches in case you lose the connection.

Another key area that isn't being neglected is the hero balance one, as Blizzard is trying to find the appropriate nerfs or buffs for each character, in order to make all of them viable in different roles.

"We’re putting a lot of effort into improving performance issues and intend to show more relevant information so players are better informed about where their performance has degraded. We’re also continuing to test and will eventually implement changes which should further improve matchmaking. As you might expect, we’re continuing to work on balancing heroes," the studio explains.

Last but not least, Heroes of the Storm players should also expect to see new heroes, mounts, skins, and battlegrounds in the future. Unfortunately, Blizzard can't talk about them just yet as many are still in development and can change extensively until they see the light of day.

Expect to see more big announcements for Heroes of the Storm as we get closer to its open beta and full launch.
