The two titles will probably share some heroes and some lore

The development team at EA Capital Games working on Heroes of Dragon Age, a game that will be offered on Android and iOS, is apparently working closely with the core BioWare group that’s creating Dragon Age: Inquisition.

Tim Lander, a producer on the first project, tells Eurogamer that the two studios are making sure that the events in the two titles are aligned, suggesting that a narrative link exists between them.

When pressed on the issue, the developer stated, “I can't technically answer that yet but I would say that we're definitely working a lot with that team and that would make a lot of sense.”

Heroes of Dragon Age is a squad-based strategy experience that will allow gamers to fight some of the best-known enemies of the game’s universe in order to get access to 100 heroes, some of them linked to the first two installments in the series.

There are also 10 single-player quests that will use the lore of the franchise.

Gamers will be able to access all the game content for free as long as they are willing to put in the time.

They also have the options to simply pay in order to get access to a random hero that they do not yet own.

Lander says that the payment model does not make Heroes of Dragon Age a pay-to-win experience.

He adds, “It’s like a time versus money thing. If players want to put the time in, they don’t have to pay, if they want to speed it up there’s an opportunity there.”

Dragon Age: Inquisition is a much more ambitious project that will ask gamers to deal with a tear in the Fade, while also finding a way to make the Mages and the Templars work together.

Launch is planned for fall 2014.
