14 DAY TRIAL // In the DC Comics, before Harley Quinn becomes The Joker’s partner in crime and love, she’s actually a well-grounded, completely sane woman. However, once The Joker starts messing with her brain, she’s a goner - and it seems that Warner Bros.’ “Suicide Squad” will show a glimpse of the character before that.
A video shot on the set of the film has emerged online, showing Jared Leto as The Joker for the first time in action. Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn also appears in it, but she’s not wearing her crazy costume from the official cast photo released at the beginning of the month. She’s in casual, regular clothes.
The Joker, on the other hand, is not: he’s driving a super pimped out car and is wearing a shiny jacket and an open-chest shirt, and a face full of makeup. He gets out of the car when Harley Quinn urges him to by positioning herself in front of it.
They get into a fight, but it doesn’t turn violent until some dude comes over, presumably to see if she needs help. He gets shot in the face instead. She turns the gun on The Joker next.
With expansive gestures, The Joker tries to reason to her and ends up taking the gun from her hand, and pointing it at his own head, in a classic “I’m crazier than you, don’t tempt me” move. He slaps her so hard that she falls to the ground and he turns and gets back into the car.
The leaked video is available below. This is the first time that The Joker is seen on set and the fans are freaking out again, since he is one of the most iconic villains in the comic book universe.
“Suicide Squad” will be out in 2016 and is directed by David Ayer. It will tie in with the Justice League universe, of which we’ve seen “Man of Steel” and will see next “Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice.”
