Samsung might release two variants of the same flagship

There’s no doubt that Samsung is gearing up to launch its Galaxy S6 flagship smartphone. But when the big event is going to happen is still a matter of debate.

We could see the device arrive as soon as CES 2014, but traditionally Samsung has been known to focus on tablets during the event. Last year we saw the Korean tech giant introduce the Galaxy NotePRO 12.2 and Galaxy TabPRO family, while this year we’re hearing the company is prepping the Galaxy Note 8.4 model.

On the other hand, Samsung’s flagship smartphones are usually unleashed upon the world at events such as MWC or IFA. For example, last year, the Barcelona event was the scene for the launch of the current Galaxy S5.

Samsung Galaxy S6 will arrive in the first months of 2015

Anyway, seeing that leaks about the Galaxy S6 have multiplied like pest not kept under control, it’s pretty obvious we’re not far from the official unveiling.

Until now we have seen bits and pieces of the Galaxy S6, but if you’re curious to see what the real deal might look like, software on top and everything, Arab website Toranji offers you the chance to do so.

As you can see, the handset is presented in three different coloring variations with features that look reminiscent of a Samsung flagship.

For example, the wallpaper seems to be Samsung-made and the company’s signature design pattern with a big physical home key up in the front is also visible.

But you can spot a few new elements too, particularly the metal design of the frame. Putting this aside, the design seems hardly to be any different from Sammy’s previous flagship, so those of you who were hoping for a major overhaul here will probably be gravely disappointed.

Possible specs of the Galaxy S6

The rumor mill isn't 100% clear about the upcoming specs of the device. The flagship will take advantage of a 5.2-inch / 5.5-inch panel with QHD resolution (2560 x 1440 pixels) of the Super AMOLED variety.

The handset will be one of the first to take advantage of Qualcomm’s octa-core powerhouse, the Snapdragon 810.

Chinese sources suggest that Samsung will also launch another variant of the Galaxy S6, one with a dual-edged display, in the vein of the Galaxy Note Edge.
