Remember that last month Samsung rolled out the Galaxy A5 as being its first smartphone boasting a full aluminum body.
The device is supposed to be a mid-ranger arriving with an acceptable price tag, but Vietnamese gold-plated shop Karalux has set its sights on the handset with the intent of giving it a more luxurious twist.
The company has gold-plated the entire metal body of the handset, while leaving the plastic patches on top, back and bottom untouched.
The gold-plating isn’t even an all that complicated end to achieve, as Karalux says it takes 4 hours to remove the original back panel and gold-plate it. And customers can even get to pick a custom design to have encrusted on the back.
The Galaxy A5 will be offered at a $410 / €343 price, but the gold plating will add an extra $200 / €167, which makes for a pretty affordable golden smartphone.
As for specifications, the A5 takes advantage of a 5-inch display and has quite a skinny frame about it (6.77mm / 0.26 inches) that's actually sleeker than the iPhone 6's.
The handset relies on a quad-core 1.2GHz processor fitted with 2GB of RAM. Obviously, the A5 has a 13MP camera living on the back and a 5MP selfie-dedicated shooter in front.
Now, if you want to eradicate the Samsung logo on the back, you’ll be able to by throwing an extra $200 / €167 to get the golden plate of your dreams.
