The X79 platform will soon welcome the latest and greatest collection of ultra high-end central processing units.

The line will be launched on September 10 and will be composed of the Core i7-4960X, Core i7-4930K and Core i7-4820K.

The first two are six-core units with 3.6 GHz and 3.4 GHz clock speeds, respectively, plus 15MB/12MB cache memories.

The Core i7-4820K is a quad-core with 3.7 GHz frequency and 10 MB smart cache.

All of them will use the LGA 2011 pin array and should work with existing mainboards after a BIOS update.
