A series of leaks about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 began appearing last week but only now has a huge cache of information about the game, which is under the development of a team at Infinity Ward, been made public.

The leak includes almost all of the story details so be warned that the rest of the article includes potential spoilers for Modern Warfare 3.

A number of sources that apparently have access to a lot of images taken from the single player portion of the game and to the voice recordings for a number of characters have talked to gaming website Kotaku and offered a lot of information about the coming game.

Because Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is still being worked on the details offered might change before launch date, which is apparently set for November 8 of this year.

The game opens just after the events of Modern Warfare 2, with the United States still under heavy attack from Russian forces, with main characters Captain John "Soap" MacTavish and Captain John Price running while wounded, accompanied by Nikolai.

The action moves to Dharmasala in India, where a safe house needs to be defended, before returning to Manhattan, where players will take on the role of Frost, a Delta Force operative that needs to repel an enemy assault launched from ships parked in the Hudson River.

A helicopter vehicle section comes next and then the game jumps forward in time one year, as Makarow tries to prevent the presidents of Russia and the United States from signing a peace accord.

Price and Soap are on next as they work in Africa to secure a chemical weapons transport that Makarov wants to use.

The SAS is called into action but fails to stop a chemical attack on Parliament and other European capitals are similarly attacked as the Russians launched an assault.

Price and Soap track down a lead in Somalia and then travel to Paris while players also get to play as a United States tank gunner in Hamburg, fighting off Russian forces.

Price and Soap are joined by Delta Force man Frost as they track Makarov and repeatedly try to take him out while preventing another attack on Europe and the United States and the mission takes them to Prague, the Czech mountains, the Kremlin and finally Dubai, where a final showdown takes place.

Activision has reacted by releasing four small trailers that can be downloaded from Softpedia, named America, England, Germany and France.
