Penny Arcade and a lot of add-ons

We live in some very troubled financial times, where a lot of budget for games has been seriously cut due to other expenses being more important. That is why a lot of companies are employing major promotions and price cuts in order to attract people into buying new things.

We've already seen Steam employ quite a lot of promotions, offering big discounts or free-play weekends for titles such as Unreal Tournament 3 or games from Ubisoft's portfolio. But a few weeks ago Microsoft decided to fight back and re-introduced the Xbox Live Deal of the Week program.

We've seen titles such as Braid or Fable, and add-ons like the ones for Ninja Gaiden II or Project Gotham Racing, and it seems that the discount items won't stop here. The North American company has now posted the schedule of price cuts that will be made to various objects on the Xbox Live Marketplace for Gold subscribers only.

This week, gamers will be in for a special treat as Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness will see its price cut in half, from 1600 to 800 MS Points, or 10 dollars in real money. After that, starting with April 13, Xbox 360 gamers will be able to download Advanced Warfighter 2 Co-Op Collection for just 320 MS Points, and the following week will feature the Spyglass Hill Golf Course add-on for Tiger Woods 09 at just 400 Points. The last week of April will see the price go down for the NBA Live 365 Subscription add-on, which will be only 560 MS Points.

All in all, gold subscribers are definitely in for some interesting offers, with the Penny Arcade title being certain to be picked up by a lot of people who waited for such a discount. Hopefully the promotions will continue and Xbox 360 gamers will see other surprises prepared for them in the near future.
