14 DAY TRIAL // Techland, the developer of games like Dead Island or Call of Juarez, has just confirmed Hellraid, a first-person cooperative slasher experience that's set to appear for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 this year.
Techland has delivered quite an array of interesting games over the last few years and, while many were plagued by glitches or certain downsides, they still managed to find a loyal fanbase.
Now, the studio has just presented Hellraid, a new type of experience that was formerly codenamed Project Hell.
The new title is described by the studio as a first-person co-op slasher, as players fight through dungeons with the denizens of hell while slashing their different weapons and items.
Besides the single-player campaign, there's also a special cooperative multiplayer mode that pits four players against the denizens of hell but also against each other, as those who score the most points get the bigger rewards.

"The armies of Hell brought pain and destruction to the realm of man, and only a select few have the fighting skills necessary to confront the devilish monstrosities. Combining elements of hack & slash RPGs, first-person shooters and online multiplayer games, Hellraid features an advanced, immersive combat system with melee, ranged and magical weapons. The engaging Game Master system makes each game a different experience, placing loot and enemies while generating random online challenges."
Hellraid promises "exploration, looting, questing, weapon crafting, boss fights, armor customization, character development, leaderboards, magic," and much more according to Techland.
The new title will be released later this year for the PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 platforms.
