Helio has recently introduced their latest handset, the Ocean, a 3G media and content powerhorse that delivers an interesting and convenient form factor as well as an impressive set of features.

According to Helio, the Ocean was designed to become the ultimate social networking tool and can easily be used for instant messaging, text messaging, picture messaging and emails from all the major portals, ISPs as well as corporate exchange servers.

Due to its dual-slide design, the user can choose between a standard numeric keypad, which is perfect for making calls or surfing the web, and the full QWERTY keyboard that can be found on most of today's messaging devices, for quicker and more convenient composing of messages of any type.

The Ocean also sports a 2.4 inch 260k color screen with a QVGA resolution, viewable in both landscape and portrait modes, external stereo speakers, a 2 megapixel camera with flash and video recording capabilities, Bluetooth with A2DP support, 200MB of internal memory that can be expanded via MicroSD card slot with support for up to 2GB memory cards. Moreover, it features USB Mass Storage Mode while the media player it includes supports a variety of file formats like MP3, AAC, WMA, MPEG4, and H.264.

'Finally, you don't have to choose between a device that's good for talking but a nightmare for messaging, or one that's good at messaging but feels like you're holding a brick up to your face when you try to make a call," said Sky Dayton, CEO of Helio. "With Ocean, Helio has changed the shape of 3G with a new kind of device - the dual slide - a design that doesn't compromise on voice, text, IM, email, surfing, and every other way you want to stay connected.' The handset should become available during this spring for an estimated price of $295.
