It’s hard being a reality TV star, choosing to have plastic surgery to fit the current beauty standards and then suddenly realize you have to pay for all the interventions with a credit card and thus run yourself into debt. Heidi Montag should know, as she says in a new video for Funny Or Die, in which she mocks herself and lobbies for financial reform, as MSNBC can confirm.

The video was directed by none other than Oscar winning, internationally famous director Ron Howard (“Cinderella Man,” “Angels & Demons,” “Apollo 13,” to name just a few) and stars Montag as herself, speaking about the hardship of life as a celebrity craving for attention and, obviously, not getting enough. The spoof culminates with “The Hills” star, fresh off a complete makeover thanks to plastic surgery, saying people are bound to listen to what she’s saying for the mere fact that she’s in a bubbly bathtub.

“A jaw-dropping 10 plastic surgery procedures in one day may have made ‘The Hills’ star Heidi Montag the happiest she’s ever been, but it also made her fodder for some comics. Now Montag is joining the laugh brigade, with the help of Funny or Die and Oscar-winning Ron Howard, who’s directed a new video in which Montag stars. Its mission: To urge Congress to enact financial reform,” MSNBC says of the vid.

After working with Howard (as a side note, legendary actress Meryl Streep has not yet collaborated with him), Montag realized acting could be in the cards for her. “I was honored to work with the amazing Ron Howard. He was even more incredible than I could have imagined – kind, generous and made me feel so comfortable – he made me feel confident in my talent. I am so excited about my acting future. I can’t wait for my next role to be as an action star! This is just the beginning of a whole new world for me,” she says.

Moreover, this video also marks the first time Montag, who recently announced she’d come out with a fashion line sometime soon, shows off one of her creations. The pink mini dress she’s wearing in the video (which you can see below) was designed by her and is presumably part of the upcoming line, MSNBC points out.
