Angel no more: model Heidi Klum has just announced that she’s hung up her wings and halo, and will no longer be one of the Angels from Victoria’s Secret, after more than a decade with the lingerie giant.

As it must be common knowledge by now, Victoria’s Secret is famous with women for its lingerie collections, and with men for the Angels that present each new line in the most spectacular show of its kind each year.

Heidi has been with Victoria’s Secret for nearly 13 years but, like all good things, this too must come to an end, as she’s focusing on her other projects.

The model has several fashion lines out, not to mention to highly successful “Project Runaway” reality show, which means she’s finding it harder to make the time for catwalk modeling as well.

However, as People magazine informs, it’s not without regret that Heidi is leaving Victoria’s.

“It’s impossible to think of Victoria’s Secret without thinking of their iconic Angels – from Gisele Bundchen to Tyra Banks, some of the world’s most beautiful faces have graced the company’s steamy catalogues and legendary runway shows,” People writes.

“All good things have to come to an end. I will always love Victoria and never tell her secret. It’s been an absolute amazing time!” Heidi says in a statement sent out to the media.

However, parting ways doesn’t mean burning all the bridges and leaving no coming back, as it turns out.

“Heidi will always be an Angel,” Ed Razek, President and Chief Marketing Officer, Limited Brands, parent company of Victoria’s Secret, says for People.

Those who find the thought of not seeing Heidi up on Victoria’s catwalk too hard to bear should also consider another aspect: other Angels will come to take her place.

“Like the others who have departed before her, Klum now clears the way for a whole new generation of beauties, including Doutzen Kroes and Chanel Iman,” the aforementioned magazine notes.
