It really seems that more and more industrial systems' manufacturers opt for Intel's Atom CPU for their heavy-duty, rugged systems, and that's also the case with the people over at Axiomtek, who've recently announced their GOT-3126TL-830 industrial-grade PC. The system features a heavy-duty metal enclosure, ideal for the industrial environment and targets some pretty serious applications including steel refinery, oil pipeline, ship, machine manufacturing plant and many more.

The device supports temperature ranges of -10°C to +55°C and also sports an anti-vibration design, being able to withstand 1.3G (5 ~ 500Hz, random for 2.5” HDD) vibrations during operation mode.

Additionally, in order to make sure that the system will be protected against power spikes (which do tend to happen a lot more often in the industrial segment than the consumer one), the GOT-3126TL-830 industrial-grade PC from Axiomtek also packs an over-current protection fuse.

Inside the fanless, industrial system (that's controlled via the 12.1-inch touchscreen it comes equipped with), we can find a low power Intel Atom processor N270 running at 1.6 GHz, accompanied by up to 2GB of DDR2 533 SODIMM system memory, one SATA HDD and one CompactFlash slot.

However, it packs plenty of connectivity options, including three RS-232 ports, one RS-232/422/485 port, four USB 2.0 ports, one audio (line-out), one Gigabit Ethernet and one VGA connector, while a fixed rotational WLAN antenna is also available as an option.

Moreover, the system incorporates an PCI Express Mini Card slot for optional add-ons such as wireless LAN card for 802.11 b/g connections & 3G/GPRS application, dedicated video card, universal analog TV/FM tuner/AV capture card, and more.

Axiomtek's not provided any details on the pricing of this thing (slated to become officially available in February 2011), but if you're interested in equipping your manufacturing plant with a couple of systems of this type, feel free to contact the manufacturer directly.
