The company might be preparing a new type of event

Blizzard has just confirmed that it is introducing new heroes for all the classes included in Hearthstone, but it seems that the development team has more changes planned for the title, with a new game mode potentially in the works.

The official Twitter account of the company is offering a short video that clearly shows a fourth new button that appears under the three core options for the title, Play, Solo Adventure and Arena.

At the moment, no actual name is attached to it, which means that Blizzard wants the community to speculate a little more before it delivers a full reveal.

When the company previously offered a teaser for the community, it made the actual announcement about the new Hearthstone feature in about 24 hours, so by this time tomorrow the new element might be official.

Fans are saying that either a tournament mode or a 2 versus 2 battle mode would be the best idea for the game, but some of them believe that Blizzard will settle for something less ambitious, like an achievement list or a way to see how various strategies compare with one another.

It's unclear whether the new feature for Hearthstone will be free or whether the studio is aiming to introduce a new way to get revenue from the community.

The recently announced alternate heroes will be sold for the price of 9.99 dollars or Euro.

Hearthstone might get a bigger card expansion later in the year

Blizzard has made the card game one of its core priorities for the future, and earlier in the year, it launched a Blackrock Mountain expansion, which opened up five new adventure wings for the community.

Given how Hearthstone was expanded until now, fans believe that a new big content drop that will deliver a lot of new cards will be offered before the end of the year.

Blizzard might aim to launch it before BlizzCon in order to make sure that the big tournament that takes place there will benefit from it.

Hearthstone has managed to get more than 40 million registered players since it was launched, although there's no information on how many of them are paying for the game in any way.
