Hazard Ops has just received an announcement trailer, showing what it intends to bring to the crowded world of shooters.

The game is a multiplayer third-person shooter set in an alternative universe, where people have already invented portal technology. The bad news is that the new technology has lured cross-dimensional creatures to Earth, and now humanity is under siege, being no doubt punished by some ethereal force for trying to learn more about the Universe.

Hazard Ops players will have to battle a host of hostile creatures and demons using "guns, guts and gear," which sounds catchy but not very revealing.

The trailer, on the other hand, offers a glimpse of the insane things which are happening in the upcoming release, showing players shooting away at zombies, demons, monsters, robots, mutants, mummies, and plain old ordinary angry dudes. Well, maybe not that ordinary.

If that sounds like barely enough to sate your hunger for over-the-top action, you should know that there are also rocket-wielding dinosaurs, spontaneously exploding zombie gods, some bone-crushing traps, not to mention unpleasant lady ghosts on high heels.

The crazy action game is being developed by Yingpei Games, formerly known as Epic Games China, and will be published in Europe by Infernum.

Speaking of "formerly known as," the game is a rebranded version of Zombies Monsters Robots and will be sold in Europe under the name Hazard Ops, with the studio intending to release it sometime during Q3 2014, with English, German and French versions.

In North America, ZMR will launch as a free-to-play game sometime this summer, with a testing period scheduled to begin in April, in order to prepare for the full launch.

"As soon as I heard about this title, I knew [that] this much insane gaming fun and hard-core action just has to find its way to Europe! We are proud that Yingpei Games have entrusted us with their product, and we are confident that Hazard Ops will become a success story," Infernum CEO Andreas Weidenhaupt stated.

"And I'm already looking forward to the day when the first players experience their very own WTF?! Moments."

Hazard Ops, also going by the name of Zombies Monsters Robots, is also known as Mercenary Ops 2 in China, where it originates from and where it already has over 30 million registered player accounts. Impressive.
