Father and manager Matthew Knowles says shame on all those who doubted Beyonce’s vocal abilities

Yesterday, Howard Stern aired an audio recording of Beyonce on The Today Show, in which what the audience could hear was reportedly the board feed from the “live” performance. The screeching and the yelling on Beyonce’s part were unbearable, and almost convinced some that she rarely sang live, if ever. Her father and manager, Matthew Knowles, is now telling haters they’re idiots for ever doubting his daughter’s vocal abilities, as TMZ can confirm.

The statement was released hours after the doctored recording hit the net, and shortly before the prankster himself (a blogger) stepped out to admit to the hoax, saying that he never believed it would be taken so seriously, let alone get airplay on Stern’s show. As funny as the recording might have seemed to some, Matthew Knowles is not happy about it getting out there and he’s sparing no expense to let the world know about it.

“If no one took the time to look at the biggest Inauguration in the history of America then shame on them. If no one took the time to listen to Beyonce sing ‘America the Beautiful’ and ‘At Last’ at the Neighborhood Ball for the first dance of President Obama and the First Lady, and they question Beyonce’s vocal ability, they’ve gotta be an idiot.” Beyonce’s father and manager says of all those who were quick to comment that the singer was a “fake” just like most pop stars out there.

And they were many, as music-oriented publications indicate. Once the recording got out there, countless people took to the Internet to say the traditional “I told you so” as regarded Beyonce’s live singing. As a side note, until yesterday, she was considered one of the few artists who actually did sing live on almost every occasion. Now, with Matthew Knowles’ statement and the prankster’s admission of guilt, she will again be considered so, it has been stressed.

“At 12 years into her career, the last thing someone should be questioning is her vocal ability. That would be like questioning if Kobe Bryant could shoot a jump shot. The vocals were obviously altered.” Knowles tells in the same statement. Below is the recording that Stern played on his radio show – listen and judge for yourselves.
