Hasselblad and Ferrari are two brands most people who don't have to worry about their finances are quite well-accustomed to, and for this reason, the release of a co-branded product by these two big names, in a limited edition and at a price to match shouldn't come as much of a surprise. Announced ever since Photokina 2010, the Hasselblad H4D Limited Edition Ferrari Camera (because this is the topic you'll read about as follows) has just gone on sale, featuring the new Ferrari “Rosso Fuoco” color and bearing the legendary Cavallino Rampante, while also coming with an 80mm lens and an exclusively designed and engineered glass display box. The Hasselblad H4D-40 features a 40 Megapixel medium format sensor and Hasselblad True Focus (making auto-focus substantially easier and more accurate), and gives users access to the world's most advanced lenses, the Hasselblad HC/HCD line. Other technical details you might be interested in include the sensor size KAF-40000, 40.0 Mpixels (7304 x 5478 pixels), the sensor dimensions of 33.1°—44.2 mm, as well the image size - RAW 3FR capture 50 MB on average, TIFF 8 bit- 120 MB, saved in lossless compressed Hasselblad RAW 3FR format. Shutter speed range is 256 seconds to 1/800 second, ISO speed range is ISO 100, 200, 400, 800 and 1600, while color definition has been set at 16 bit. Metering options include Spot, Centre Weighted and CentreSpot, while the metering range for Spot mode is EV2 to 21, for Centre Weighted EV1 to 21 and for CentreSpot: EV1 to 21. Dr. Larry Hansen, chairman and CEO of Hasselblad, had only good things to say about the camera upon its initial unveiling, back at Photokina: "I am proud of the company's achievements since the introduction of the newest generation of Hasselblad cameras, the H4 series, and feel very honored to be able to celebrate our success together with such a precious brand." As mentioned before, pricing for this high-end collectors' item is extremely high, since each of the 499 units to be released will sell for 21,499 Euros (or 29,499 USD), which is quite a huge sum to pay, albeit we're pretty sure that this won't stop the rich Ferrari fans from getting one.
