Rock Band 2 is the sequel to one of the best selling music games out there, fighting a good battle against Activision Blizzard's Guitar Hero: World Tour. It was launched this September and came with the whole  music library from the first game and with new songs which are available on the Xbox 360 Live Marketplace or on the PlayStation Network, depending on the console of your choice. Customers who bought the Nintendo Wii version were left hoping that Harmonix, the developer behind this popular title, would bring the much awaited DLC songs to their white and small console.

After claims that the Wii's online capabilities aren't high enough, in a recent USA Today article, the developer announced that all of the albums currently available for Sony's and Microsoft's consoles would also be available soon for the Nintendo Wii gamers. So, better start saving up, because you will definitely have a lot of songs to choose from.

“While unannounced, MTV Games has confirmed that the upcoming Nintendo Wii version of Rock Band 2' will offer the same online functionality - i.e. song downloads and Internet multiplayer modes - as the Microsoft Xbox 360 and Sony PS3 versions. The PS2 version, however, will not include online connectivity. Speaking of extra songs, "Rock Band 2" will again allow you to download additional tracks - by song or complete albums - and will play any previously downloaded track, too. By year's end, more than 500 downloadable tracks will be available for the game,” read the article from USA Today.

In the end, Harmonix surely made the day of would-be Wii rockers everywhere with this announcement. It was definitely bound to happened sooner or later, because no matter what type of gamer one is, the money he can spend is very attractive for the developers.
