It really seems that soundbars are rapidly becoming the audio solutions of choice for those users out there who simply don't have enough room around the house in order to install a full-fledged surround audio system, and this is exactly the reason why Harman Kardon has come up with the SB16 home cinema soundbar system, able to deliver quite an impressive audio experience despite taking up only a small amount of space. The SB16 is actually formed out of two different components, namely the soundbar itself, that will fit with most widescreen HDTVs out there, and a wireless subwoofer, meant to compliment the overall audio experience delivered by the soundbar with some seriously thumping bass.

The system will deliver a 3-D virtual surround-sound experience for anyone sitting in front of the soundbar, due to its 2.1-channel system housing left and right speakers with built-in amplifiers and digital signal processing (DSP) with virtual 3-D surround circuitry.

It's also important to mention that the soundbar itself comes equipped with two x 3-inch (75mm) cone midrange speakers and one x 3/4-inch (19mm) dome tweeter per channel, delivering an amplifier power of 2 x 25W.

Plus, the wireless subwoofer offers an amplifier power of 100 watts, while the system frequency response range is 50Hz – 20kHz.

In order to work quite well with most HDTVs out there, the SB16 also sports optical and coaxial digital input connections, works with most TV remotes out there, and also sports a series of interesting features such as music sense switching, subwoofer volume, crossover and phase controls.

Last, but certainly not least, we'll have to point out that Harman Kardon's SB 16 soundbar system is actually fairly expensive, since users will have to cough up around 600 US dollars in order to get their hands on one of these things.
