Hannah Anderson has taken a TV interview to explain that she is not a victim, she is a survivor of the incident that tore her family apart.

As I documented, Hannah was kidnapped and held hostage by a friend of her parents. She was discovered one week after being abducted in the Idaho wilderness.

James Lee DiMaggio had killed her mother and younger brother and set fire to the remains. In an odd twist of fate, Hannah will be the recipient of his insurance money, and his family believe that she might be his daughter.

“In the beginning, I was a victim but now, knowing everyone out there is helping me, I consider myself a survivor instead,” she says.

She honors her family by painting “Ethan” and “Tina” on her toes and coloring her fingernails in pink and blue.
