14 DAY TRIAL // The third season of Kendra on Top, Kendra Wilkinson and Hank Baskett’s WE tv reality show, is coming to an end: the finale will be split into 2 parts, the first airing on December 5 and the second one week later, on December 12.
From the 2 new teasers released for it – one of which is embedded below – it’s clear that the producers have saved the best for last, because the 2-part special will include the first joint interview with Kendra and Hank, the moment when Hank finally speaks out on the cheating allegations, and Kendra’s admission that she contemplated suicide as the cheating scandal raged on.
So brace yourself, because the madness is far from over.
The cheating scandal that didn’t imply cheating and wasn’t even that much of a scandal
Earlier this year, news broke that Hank Baskett, who had just welcomed his second child with wife Kendra, had had an affair with transgender model Ava London some months before, when Kendra was about 8 months pregnant.
Within days, it emerged that the “affair” wasn’t really an affair, as London stepped forward to recall their fling blow-by-blow, with all the unnecessary details. She claimed they had mutually pleased each other but that there had been no actual contact of a more intimate nature. She also claimed that Baskett tried to buy her silence by throwing money at her – or the promise of money, as soon as he could get it out from his and his wife’s joint bank account.
Initial response from the fans to this was one of rejection for the “cheater” but when it was announced that Kendra would document all this marital drama on her reality show, fans turned on her as well. They felt this was a ploy for attention, a desperate grab for a ratings boost, and that Kendra, Hank, and London were all in on the joke.
So the cheating scandal turned out to not involve cheating (Kendra and Hank maintain London is lying, as part of an attempt to blackmail them because they’re celebrities and “targets”) and to not be a scandal after all (after she told her story, London went off the grid, conveniently so).
The big finale: tears, swearing, suicide thoughts
If you still believe that there was some truth to this whole conundrum, you might want to tune in for the season finale, because it promises to bring the extra drama, along with some answers.
For instance, Kendra says that, when she learned Hank had cheated on her, she “questioned [her] life” and even contemplated suicide. Had it not been for her newborn baby girl and the fact that she was breastfeeding her, Kendra says, she might have actually acted out on her dark thoughts.
“I felt like I'm not even supposed to be here,” she tells the camera. The rest of the video shows her breaking down in tears after fighting with Hank over the phone to bring “little Hank” home to her.
The other video, available on E! News, is a snippet of Kendra and Hank’s first joint interview after all these months of rumors and fighting in front of the cameras. Here too, the former Playboy Bunny loses her cool and drops F-bombs left and right, but mostly in Hank’s direction.
He, for his part, claims that he was too afraid to come and talk to her before the story broke in the media, even though he knew it wasn’t true. Apparently, what started the whole “scandal” was a simple misunderstanding, caused by Hank’s reluctance to speak to his wife and have his side of the story out.
