It seems that ViewSonic did not just let the opportunities provided by Mobile World Congress 2011 go by, as it went and put on display a certain 10-inch tablet that has two operating systems instead of just one.

One might say that, at present, there are two main types of slates, those based on x86 chips and running Windows 7 and the ARM-powered ones with Android.

There are, however, exceptions, like Intel-powered slates running Android or, in some case, both the Windows and the Android OS.

ViewSonic has this very sort of product on show in Barcelona and one of our colleagues on the site managed to snatch some hands-on pictures of it.

It goes by the name of ViewPad 10 and, unlike many devices there, is not exactly a new release, having been detailed on the company's website for a while now.

Its configuration is centered around the Intel Pine Trail Atom N455, clocked at 1.66 GHz and paired with the Mobile NM10 Express chipset.

The display is a 10-inch LCD screen with a native resolution of 1,024 x 600 pixels, a brightness of 220 cd/m2 and a contrast ratio of 700:1.

16 GB of built-in flash storage are present, along with 1 GB of memory and the full list of connectivity and I/O options.

Said list includes such things as 802.11 b/g/n WiFI, Bluetooth + EDR, optional 3G, assisted GPS, a 1.3 megapixel webcam, two USB 2.0 ports, a microSD card slot, mini VGA and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Other specifications include a g-sensor, e-compass, an ambient light sensor, a size of 275mm x 170mm x 16.5mm (10.8 x 6.7 x 0.57 inches) and a 3,200mah Li-ion battery.

As already mentioned, the ViewSonic ViewPad 10 makes its rounds flaunting its dual-OS feature, the operating systems being Android 1.6 and Either Windows 7 Home Premium or Windows 7 Professional.
