Developer 343 Industries has confirmed the inclusion of the Halo 2 multiplayer map Coagulation in the upcoming Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

Coagulation will be joining Ascension, getting remastered for the upcoming Halo fan treat, as announced this weekend by 343 Industries, at RTX. The event held a classic Halo 2 multiplayer party as a way to celebrate the game's 10-year anniversary, and in addition to all the good fun had there, 343 also made a few interesting reveals.

The company is planning to recreate six multiplayer maps from throughout the decade-spanning series and bundle them in the product it aims to deliver later this year, in November, for the Xbox One.

The map, Coagulation, was itself a reimagined version of the popular Blood Gulch, a multiplayer map from Halo: Combat Evolved. The developer is yet to reveal screenshots of the upcoming remade map, but we'll be keeping our eyes peeled.

Furthermore, the developer announced that it also intended to give the popular Mongoose vehicle a makeover in the process, which would add some serious firepower to the ATV.

The new Gungoose will have its own game mode, Gungoose CTF, with the new Coagulation highlighted as the best map to test it out on.

In addition to this, the terminals that made their debut in Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary and unlocked a comic that hinted at the upcoming events of Halo 4 will also be seen in Halo 2 Anniversary, only this time around they will offer players a glimpse into the story of Halo 5, told from the Arbiter's perspective.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection is headed exclusively for the Xbox One all-in-one computer entertainment system from Microsoft, scheduled to land on November 11. The collection includes Halo 1, 2, 3 and 4, and includes access to the upcoming beta of Halo 5: Guardians, set to debut this winter holiday season.

The devs mentioned that the collection making its way to the PC was not out of the question, but that up until then they wanted to focus on the Xbox One, and that due to the high level of visual detail in the remastered versions of the old games, releasing the bundle on the Xbox 360 would be impossible.

Halo 5: Guardians is currently scheduled to come out sometime next year, alongside the live-action series helmed by famed science fiction director Steven Spielberg, that is currently in the making as part of the Xbox Originals program.
