Gamers will also experience improved matchmaking

The development team at 343 Industries is continuing its long-term work on Halo: The Master Chief Collection and is delivering a new content update which is designed to introduce the Spartan Ops cooperative mode from Halo 4, while also dealing with a range of issues linked to matchmaking, custom games and other areas of the shooter.

The patch for the game will be downloaded as soon as the title is restarted and the development team says that gamers should see a faster and more stable matchmaking process, in addition to some changes to the Halo CE hit registration.

At the same time, statistics tracking in Halo: The Master Chief Collection should work better and Achievements should unlock more reliably.

A full list of the changes made to the shooter can be seen by clicking on the button at the end of this article.

343 Industries is also introducing all the content that was part of the Spartan Ops cooperative game mode that was offered in Halo 4, allowing players to battle a range of enemies as they seek to achieve a range of objectives.

The studio is also offering an update on the issue of dedicated servers, saying they “have been up and running since launch, and we continue to optimize and improve connectivity. The vast majority of games are being played on dedicated servers, but in the event that players cannot connect to a dedicated server, the lobby will stay together and the match will still occur on a peer-to-peer connection.”

This is presumably the final update that the title will get in 2014, although the developers have not made that clear.

The Halo: The Master Chief Collection community will get rewards for their patience

During the weekend, Bonnie Ross, the leader of the team working on the shooter, announced that a range of content was being offered to all those who played Halo: The Master Chief Collection since it was launched on November 11 and until December 19.

They would be able to use an exclusive in-game avatar and nameplate and were also given free access to the Xbox Live Gold service for one month.

At the same time, the company is planning to launch the campaign of Halo: ODST, remade to the 1080p and the 60 FPS standard, and will also introduce more multiplayer content taken from Halo 2.

The developers are also saying that they will offer more updates to tweak gameplay mechanics.
