The development team at 343 Industries says that the upcoming cooperative mode that’s being added to the Xbox One version of Halo: Spartan Assault is designed to be an entirely new experience that emphasizes team play and fun.

Dan Ayoub, the executive producer working on the port of the title, which was first only offered on mobile devices, tells the News section of the official Xbox site that his team wanted to reward gamers who get the title on a new platform.

He explains that, “We wanted to do something completely new for the game that featured really crazy action against waves of enemies. For this reason, we’re putting you up against the Flood! Players will work together against huge waves of enemies bearing down on them. The mode is heavily focused on teamwork and victory can only be attained by working together.”

The Xbox One version of Halo: Spartan Assault will allow gamers to get access to all rewards linked to Halo 4 and every other feature included in the mobile version of the game will be included.

The game experience is also set to be improved by the fact that all items included in the game can now be unlocked by simply playing it and there is no content that is locked behind a purchase requirement.

Ayoub also reveals that his favorite weapon to use in Halo: Spartan Assault is the Battel Rifle.

He adds, “In terms of new abilities Teleport is my favorite, when you're overcome by the floor and in the corner, a quick teleport and you return to flight back to back with your partner.”

An entirely new Halo experience is in the works at 343 Industries and was teased during the reveal ceremony for the Xbox One, but the company has not offered any details on it up until now.
