Word on the web is that finally, Halo movie has found financing. You would not guess in a million years who will provide funding for Halo. The rumor about the Halo funds provider has been spread by AndNetwork's website.

According to them, the cinema adaptation of Halo will be financed by (sound of drums beating) Microsoft themselves. Certainly, if Microsoft wants to finance a movie, the company has the financial power to do so. Just image what kind of cash Microsoft handles, as they control almost 90% of the world's software market.

The Halo movie scandal started just a few days ago as the main funds providers for the movie, Universal Studios and 20th Century Fox, have backed out of the project due to arguments over financial issues that they had with Microsoft. Supposedly, the US$ 135 million budget for the movie was exceeded and when the movie producers were asked to cut back on expenses, they declined.

The final straw was the request of Microsoft for US$ 5 million upfront, money that would come out of the film's budget and also 10% of the movie's gross earnings. Even though Microsoft got greedy making those requests, they seem to regret that now and they plan to finance the movie themselves.
