Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary Edition, no doubt one of the biggest announcements at Microsoft's E3 2011 conference, will feature certain moments that hint at the story in the upcoming Halo 4, while respecting the original title developed by franchise creator Bungie.

Microsoft is keen on getting its Halo franchise running once more, as its own 343 Industries, the studio now in charge of the series, is working on not one, but two new titles, in the form of Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary Edition, basically an HD revamp of the original Halo, and Halo 4, which starts a new trilogy of titles with the same iconic protagonist, Master Chief.

Talking about the Halo 1 HD project, 343 Industries Creative Director Frank O'Connor confirmed to Industry Gamers that the studio will "never ignore the roots and foundation of what makes Halo successful," and that the team isn't going to try and "replicate what Bungie did" for the franchise, instead opting to bring a fresh air to the whole experience.

Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary delivers the same classic Halo experience, but with a next-generation polish, which can be turned off or on by pressing a simple button, so that gamers can see how the game looked when it first came out for the original Xbox and how it looks on the current Xbox 360.

What's more, the Official Xbox Magazine claims that the Anniversary edition of Halo 1 is going to feature terminals like the ones found in Halo 3, which are going to deliver clever little hints at the story that will be seen in Halo 4 and the other two games that will appear after it.

These terminals are going to be easier to find than in Halo 3, and, instead of delivering big amounts of text, will play small videos that are telling the events from the perspective of Guilty Spark.

Expect more details about Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary Edition in the following months before its release, exclusively on the Xbox 360, on November 15.
