14 DAY TRIAL // Halo Anniversary, the upcoming HD remake of the original Halo: Combat Evolved, has received a brand new piece of information, in the form a new map added to its multiplayer roster, the classic Halo 2 level Headlong, now improved and renamed as Breakneck.
Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary HD is definitely one of the biggest releases of the year, as legions of Halo fans are eager to once again experience the first title in the franchise, remastered in high definition and with lots of new improvements.
We've heard quite a lot of Halo Anniversary up until now, including how the story will now have brief nods to the narrative in next year's Halo 4 title.
Now, as the Tokyo Games Show is in full swing, Microsoft, the franchise's owner, and 343 Industries, its leading studio, confirmed that a classic map from Halo 2, Headlong, will be found in Halo Anniversary's many multiplayer level.
"Announced today at the Tokyo Game Show, “Breakneck” (also known as “Headlong” in classic mode) takes you back to “Halo 2’s” fan favorite large-scale multiplayer map and lets you experience the pulse-pounding action like never before with “Halo: Anniversary’s” stunningly updated visuals."

"Headlong – Section 21 once looked out onto the New Mombasa Orbital Elevator with pride and optimism. Now, with much of the city eviscerated by the Covenant’s brutal assault, the skyline remains only a shattered ghost of what it once was. Headlong provides a large, skyscraper-hemmed construction site with numerous vantage points for clever snipers as well as a large central basin for excellent vehicle combat. (8 - 16 players)"
