The extent of the ONI cover-up seems to be huge

The Hunt the Truth episodes that 343 Industries and Microsoft are creating for Halo 5: Guardians are becoming even more complex, as they deliver more information about the state of the game's universe ahead of the events that will trigger the new campaign.

This week, the official site delivers an audio sequence narrated by journalist Benjamin Giroud, which focuses on the aftermath of the major reveal that took place in front of the Senate and linked the Master Chief to some pretty grizzly actions.

It seems that the Spartan IIs are at the moment targeted by the political establishment and the ONI is also involved in the Biko incident.

Sapient Sunrise seems to be a human purity movement that is involved in the coming single-player campaign, and they are backed by an organization that's clearly more powerful than they are, able to make Master Chief seem like a killer.

The Hunt the Truth experience will culminate in a bigger reveal about the story of the title which will take place during the E3 2015 event.

Halo 5: Guardians will change the trajectory of the Xbox One

The new shooter has the potential to dominate the coming holiday launch season and to make the Xbox One more attractive to gamers.

So far, 343 Industries and Microsoft have offered two live-action trailers for the game, one focused on Master Chief and another linked to Agent Locke, suggesting that the same events will be approached from two very different perspectives.

The Hunt the Truth and the Hunt the Signal promotional campaigns are also offering small details about the narrative, and a bigger reveal will probably take place during E3 2015.

Developers have talked about giving players more emotion while also creating impressive new situations that showcase the power of the Xbox One to deliver improved graphics and gameplay.

343 Industries is also working to improve the multiplayer element of Halo 5: Guardians, which is designed to introduce new game modes and to give players Spartans that have new powers, including sprinting, which has proved controversial.

It's unlikely that another beta stage will be offered, but gamers will be able to get hands-on experiences at certain public events.

Halo 5: Guardians will be out on October 27 on the Xbox One.
