Video game developer 343 Industries is continuing to offer more information about Halo 5: Guardians, and after a series of requests from the community, leader Josh Homes is ready to explain all the mechanics of the brand new Requisition System.

The official Halo Waypoint article explains that the concept is linked to both the Arena and the Warzone multiplayer experience and allows players to get access to points that can then be redeemed for REQ Packs that will add unlockable weapons, armors, skins, animations and other types of content.

They will also be awarded to players when they complete a Commendation and go up in Spartan Rank in Halo 5: Guardians.

343 Industries states, "While players will earn REQ Packs across both Arena and Warzone, only cosmetic items can be used in our Arena experience. This is to ensure that all players start with the same weapons and abilities as part of our vision for the balanced, competitive play in Arena multiplayer."

There are no such restrictions for the newly revealed Warzone experience because the developers want gamers to use a multitude of weapons and to really express themselves as they fight massive battles.

REQ and energy are limited, but they will organically evolve over the course of a match.

Halo 5: Guardians needs to remain interesting in the long term

For the studio, the aim is to make sure that more interesting content is being added to the shooter so that gamers remain interested in the various modes for as long as possible.

More REQ-related weapons and items will be coming once Halo 5: Guardians is officially out, although it's unclear how often they will be introduced.

Gamers who might not have the time to play to get the packages will also be able to obtain them using real-world money in the official store for the game.

The smart decision made by 343 Industries and Microsoft is to use part of the revenue earned to fund the prize pool for the Championship series associated with Halo 5: Guardians.

It seems that both companies have big plans for eSports that will be shown later in the summer.

Halo 5: Guardians will be out on October 27 on the Xbox One.
