The Smart Scope is also a target for criticism

The Halo 5: Guardians full beta on the Xbox One has been running for less than one day, but the dedicated community that has evolved alongside the franchise has already begun to offer a lot of feedback to the development team at 343 Industries, and it seems that the most requested change is the elimination of the sprint mechanic.

The main feedback thread and other smaller discussions center on the way the ability to move fast while being unable to recharge the shield tends to make all matches feel disjointed and eliminates tactical considerations.

Most of those who are criticizing sprint in Halo 5: Guardians are long-term fans, but there are also players who are defending the feature.

The community is also criticizing the fact that the multiplayer experience feels faster than before and tends to reward twitch shooting rather than careful tactical movement and engagements.

Some are also saying that the maps 343 Industries has created are unimaginative and that there are some issues with the matchmaking mechanics.

At the moment, only those who have bought Halo: The Master Chief Collection package are able to test the multiplayer features and that automatically makes the player sample relatively small, but the developers have specifically said that they are looking to get as much direct info from fans as possible.

All the feedback and data gathered automatically will be used to refine the mechanics of Halo 5: Guardians in the months left before the official launch date.

Halo 5: Guardians is the biggest Xbox One title coming next year

Microsoft has been able to close in on the PlayStation 4 in terms of sales for the Xbox One and it needs to continue to deliver very solid gaming experiences next year in order to maintain momentum for its device.

Halo 5: Guardians is the game which will sustain the console during the crucial fall launch season and that means 343 Industries needs to make sure that it can accommodate the needs of as many players as possible.

If the multiplayer is disappointing, then gamers might only engage with the title for a limited period of time.

For now, the developers and Microsoft have not offered any clear details on the single-player campaign or the story that will be linked to both Master Chief and new character Agent Locke, who was first introduced in Halo Nightfall.
